Creative

Some kids make Play Doh snakes.  Some try to make animals, or people, or plants, or balls.

C:  Momma, look what I made with my Play Doh!  It's a knife!  Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Never Mind!

Dropped J off this morning. Arrived back home at 8:45. C asked, "Momma, do you mind if I go upstairs and take a nap?"
Do I mind peace and quiet? Do I mind having my own thoughts for half an hour? Do I mind relaxing a bit myself?
She must have seen the joy on my face and taken it as a sign that I'd rather she stay awake and play.
Sigh.

Priorities

C rolls her doll stroller over J's schoolwork.
J: C, move! You're ruining my papers!
Me: C, you can't do that! Please move your stroller!
C: Well, but you <points at me> are my Momma, and you <points at J> are my J. So that means you need to move. A space, or a mile, or something. But if you don't move, my dolly can't go shopping, so MOVE!

Hoofing It Up In The Hallway

Waiting for the inevitable...at a college fair. Had to bring J and C (who's gotta dance). In the Student Union. With a local radio station holding a giveaway. Playing the music LOUDLY...she's got the rhythm...it won't be long now...

Tough Choices

Is the quiet gained while she creates a maelstrom in the living room worth the clean up later? She has quietly played alone for more than an hour...

And In A Puff of Purple Smoke...

Momma, there's one thing about being a C: little girls sometimes get really wild. So I think I would like to be something else. Like...a frog!

Why AREN'T They In There?

Bedtime. I open the Bible and wonder aloud where we left off.

"Momma, tonight can we read a story about the penguins of God?"

Better Than Chaos?

Meltdown: the crayons are not in the right order.

She's definitely mine.

Steps Toward Greatness

You will NEVER guess what Charis just did.
But I will let you try. ðŸ™‚

I told her I needed to vacuum the living room and asked her to pick up a few small toys. I went to do some dishes, and when I came back she'd cleaned the entire, incredibly messy, room! She was SO proud of herself (and so was I)!

Starting Early

J is memorizing his Latin declension aloud. Which means C is learning Latin declension, as well.
The language of the empire. Look out, terra!
